So like I said last time I got transferred out of the Mountains. I got moved to Parajes del Sur in the Stake Las Torres. My new companion is Elder Lopéz. He is from Yucatán. It´s really funny because when I got here the first thing I thought was ¨wow we’re really far out here¨. My area is really far from the offices. It´s really funny because my area is like a neighborhood. When the neighborhood stops there is pure desert. and at the very end of the desert is the capilla (chapel). It´s a little bit different from other areas I´ve had.

My first day here we went out and met some people, worked, contacted. We came home and it was hot so I wanted to take a shower. I turn on the tap... nothing. ¨Uh Elder, there´s not any water. ¨ ¨Oh yeah that happens sometimes.” ¨ So I didn´t take a shower, or wash the dishes, or use the bathroom, or drink water. The next day I woke up and the water was back, which was a good thing because I was holding it all night. Then we get back the second day from work, I turn on the tap... Then we get back the third day from work, I turn on the tap... and there was water. Hallelujah.

Anyways, that was a fun week. We actually have a lot of people here getting ready to be baptized soon. I don´t know how we will fill up the pila but they had a baptism last week so hopefully they still have something left in there to use.

Sunday came we took a route to go to church. We got there and had to give talks. I have to say this chapel is huge. It almost looks American. I gave my talk on less actives. It was going great for a 24 hr notice talk. (I don´t know why it matters that it´s 24 hrs, we all just write it 5 minutes before church anyways.) I was using the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15. I was half way through the story in verse 20 when I look up, talk and go back down to read. I lost my place and ended up reading 21 in chapter 16 which said
“21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.”
It was supposed to say something about a prodigal son but it ended up talking about a dog. Not to mention the words crumbs, moreover, licked and sores are pretty hard to read in Spanish. I was really confused. ¨This isn´t what I studied¨ Then I realized my mistake. I just said my bad, they mocked me and we moved on. It was all good.

That´s about all. I saw your pictures of the beach. I bet you guys didn´t know I went to the beach too. I just decided not to go in the water and tan instead.

So we finally got to the end of the cycle. It´s a little bit crazy because on Tuesday it was forever away and on Sunday I was surprised to get the cambios (transfer).

So I got changed to a new area somewhere. I think I´ll be going to the East but I don´t know. I don´t even know how to say the place I´m going. Next time I´ll show you my new companion and all.

This Sunday was fast Sunday but it was hard. Normally at home I want to eat and eat and eat on fast Sundays but all I wanted to do yesterday was drink. It was about 95 degrees yesterday and it was hot. It was really funny because I was thinking yesterday about shopping today. My list was something like this.

2 Gallons of Milk at least
1 Powerade each day
4 Liters of Juice
Refill the garafon with water
Some cucumbers... to make juice. and so on.

It just made me laugh to think about how silly I was only thinking about liquids all day.

We had a zone activity where we went out to find less actives. We found the husband and his brother at the house of a less active. It was funny because we asked them what religion they belonged to. The husband said Catholic and the brother said ateo (atheist). Then I noticed his shirt and I was like. Hold up if your ateo then why are you wearing a shirt that says Viva Cristo Rey, Long live King Christ. So then he said, I guess Catholic then.

That´s about all my time.

Here´s a funny picture. When we were waiting for a less active to answer the door we were playing fetch with their dog and rocks. The best part of the photo is that if you look up high enough there are two super jealous dogs watching us play but they are trapped by an endless fall of death.

This week was like a Boy Bag from Dollar Tree. It was full of all kinds of stuff.

My companion got sick this week. I learned that I needed to take my companion to the doctor. We hiked, I believe, a good 3/4 of the way back to San Antonio to get there, I´m sure that we crossed the Border somewhere in there. When the doctor showed up to the clinic, after waiting the time of a General Conference prayer, we realized that the doctor was a high school dropout.

After the clinic I made my poor companion walk all the way to Los Ojitos halfway up the mountain. There I almost chopped off the end of my finger trying to get a piece of glass out of my shoe that I thought was just a soft rock. (Don´t worry my finger´s all good). It was funny because the night before we made it to the doctor my companion was really sick. He told me if he didn´t wake up the next day to give a note to the nurse here that says ¨Thanks for trying¨.

We met a guy who fights chickens here. It was really funny because when I showed up I was just replaying the scene in Napoleon Dynamite when he´s trying to get the chicken back in the cage and drinking the yoke stuff. I had a blast.

So this week we went to the offices but we showed up a little early and were just chilling there. Then we hear some sirens and two giant SWAT trucks and about three armed trucks raced down the high way. I was like wooo. What is going on. talked to some other elders but I have no Idea, they say that a couple of weeks ago they had El Chapo in the hotel next to the offices. Who knows.

The other elders had a baptism. It was good. I thought it was funny that they had to baptize in green cold water. The best part is that they throw in a gallon of Clorox to clear it up but it didn´t do anything and I´m sure that when the poor kids came out their eyes were probably burning.

I was in the offices and got a glance at the changes and I think I´ll be moved somewhere else but I don´t know and I´m not sure.

We are teaching about 10 people. They don´t come to church which makes me want ot pull my hair out.

That´s all of the time I have today. I hope yáll have a great summer. I´ll still be here sweating and burning.
