Merry
Holidays everybody. I hope it´s not as cold over there as it is here. I don´t
really like the cold. Anyways I’m really happy because we had a great week.
So,
we have a really cool family that we are teaching. They are Virgilio and Irma. They
are from Guerrero Mx which is really close to Guatemala. They speak Mixteco
which is a dialect of Spanish but you can’t even understand it so I don´t know
why it is called a dialect. But Virgilio knows Spanish and Irma a little bit
too. So, I’m really excited because they have come to church 3 times. They say
they want to be baptized so hopefully we can baptize them. One of their
problems was that they weren’t married because they don´t really work with
paperwork and stuff like that. But good news is that my companaro and I went to
the presidency and worked stuff out and on the 1 Dec. they got married. That
was super cool. The bad news is that it was just paperwork and they didn’t do anything
like kiss the bride or anything like that.
In
addition to that another investigator Guerrero (not from Guerrero) and his wife
showed up. We have been helping him stop smoking. He use to smoke 24 cigarettes
everyday but now he is down to 1.5 every day. That was really cool. The branch
president (friend of Guerrero) was really surprised when he saw that he finally
showed up to church.
The
other family that showed up was a wild card. We didn´t think that they would
even want to come but they showed up and they said that they wanted to be baptized
too. I don’t really know that much about them so Im sure that well have to find
out if they’re married and smoking and stuff like that first.
Other
than that, it was a really chilly week. It rained on Friday and now the streets
are covered in mud. It´s really funny because Thursday for the worldwide
service hour we swept the streets and I saw that that week the government had
just finished sweeping a really long street in our area. It was pretty funny.
Well, that everybody stays safe and
has fun. Don´t flunk the finals because if you do you´ll be harvesting chilies
25 cents every trashcanful. So, study and have fun.
